My son Josh was such a fine young man. Courtesy, manners, sense of humor, he had it all. Until one day, a terrible illness over took his mind. As hard as he fought against it, he was never able to heal from this disease called schizophrenia. All the love of his mother, father, and sister could give didn't save Josh. I only want to explain that if any family member is stricken with this illness to be prepared! Be prepared for your loved one to seemingly turn against you. At the same time, please don't give up hope. For there is truly "hope for schizophrenia." I loved my son with all my heart when he was here with us and still do as he has went to heaven. I pray for all of you and can only hope that through research and intelligence, if not a cure, then at least better medicines will be found. Loving Dad of Joshua, Gary J. Scharbor |
